I’ll check what oil the mechanics have been using. My coolant has always been green not red as far as I remember? It’s always been bled properly. It’s nice and clear in the reservoir now. The bottle itself is quite dark and stained so was thinking of putting swapping that out with a new cap on the list.

I have a Bluetooth OBD with JScan. I’ve sniffer around it and made a few basic changes and used it to monitor things. Haven’t noticed anywhere for oil pressure. What’s considered normal?

You mentioned that the coolant is clear in the bottle .Usually when its clear
its the end of the coolants life! ! Or plain water in it .Yes it should be a green HOAT based product however color doesnt always now dictate whether correct or not!

As BJ said clear coolant is not good, it should be Green, early grands had a OAT coolant so Green usually at 50/50, if tank is murky use a piper to suck some out and see .................... I really don't see 120c oil temp as normal at all, TSB for fans was S49 but didnt think for earlier models but high oil temps will force a fan run .......

To see if it had the TSB done for the fans check on here, add your vin it may flash up with no listing but just wait a little bit and it should come up, sometimes what looks like an O (ooh) is actually a zero in the number....https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

Yeah the transmission ramming in to Park is a pita...if you need to move the Jeep or want to stick your head out the door for some reason like reversing, just plug the seat belt in and sit on it...

There is no proper oil pressure sensor on the diesel as far as I am aware...there is the algorithm based read out if you set up the SRT gauges...will usually show 14psi at idle and up to 40psi at revs...

Sorry clear was the wrong terminology. Clean is a better description. I agree that 120 seems too hot. So assuming the fans are operating at the correct level for the temp, with a new oil cooler, thermostat and water pump, any thoughts on why my oil temp is rising?

What fuel consumption are you getting on the highway cycle & what is your current oil life % along with the km travelled on the oil since the oil life was reset?

If you go onto the US Eco diesel sites ,eg Rams etc many owners are asking whether their oil temps are too high mostly when towing. I would say yes if continually 120c in normal operating conditions. etc.When towing my 2.7 ton caravan up a long hill I have seen nearly that oil temp.

Just wondering what your auto temp is when your oil temp is 120c.Plus what is your oil pressure showing at idle and normal driving at 120c
