Scuba Steve would be able to buy my trans cheaper than a 2nd hand soarer box, and its as good as new.

i got mine rebuilt for about 800 bucks.. which wasnt to bad i thought.

Parts alone cost me more than that, and that was at trade prices. Mine has all raybestos clutches and steels, heavy duty torque convertor, new solenoids custom shift kit, new stator spline, reconditioned planetary sets, increased cooler flow for greater lube return pressure. Plus heaps more. Im just trying to help the guy out.

thanks guys but its not a Jeep I just thought you guys might have been able to answer my question If one of my XJ's did it I wouldnt bugger around fixing it, I'd just buy a trans from work and slam it in.

My mate is selling the car so at the end of the day its his choice unfortunately.

I just did a major service in my limited...... god that pan is a pain in the ass to get off...... dipstick didnt want to release so that didnt help but I got it bunged in and done

Hows this for funny.... I rung adelaide city jeep and they advised me to seal the pan with silastic and use no gasket.... I bought a trans kit from motor traders and its got a gasket....... use a gasket and no leaks so I know what the sports getting next time.
