funny thing with wires running through the door.
they tend to break after some time follow the harness
back where it goes through the door/body , for a positive wire broken , means no power to the switch. switch might be fine , but any broken wire can cause trouble where they run between the body and door.

Could this happen this long after that switch cluster falling over?
Hard to say really, it might be worth disconnecting the switch panel and checking there is power where it needs to be, then reconnect and see if it makes any difference.

How did you go with the rest of the questions?

ok I should be getting this back tomorrow. basically been at the mechanics for the past 2 weeks. apparently the fuse was blown. replaced fuse and starts fine.

I sort of wonder why the fuse just blew, a fuse is there as a protection device and I don't think they just fail without cause. so I would say whatever is broken on my car is still broken.

Any thoughts? it was the EFI fuse.

I have the car back, i have called a mechanic in brisbane that specialises in jeep repairs. described what the car was doing and the little electrical problems it has and he has indicated that the issue will be the wiring loom that goes to the driver side door that will be causing the issues i experience.

He said the wires will be chafed through and shorting out on the chassis blowing the fuses.
