Do YOU have this problem? 😠
//warning: cross posted everywhere//
I have flipped the internet upside down looking for another WK2 owner with all these same symptoms.
😐 And I've been unsuccessful.
I'm convinced I either have multiple problems, at the same time, or an anomaly of a problem. It isn't the famed "fish-bite." I've determined that is a problem limited to 11-13 6spd models.
2014, Overland, 5.7L, 108,xxx miles
QD, QL, ELSD, 8spd ZF automatic
1. Service 4WD System
2. Traction control light lit on dash
3. Won't shift into 4Lo
4. Binds/clunks/pops when turning sharp at low speeds
5. Heavy clunk-clunk-clunk under acceleration from a stop
5a. Happens ONLY from a stop.
5b. Happens in reverse and drive.
5c. Happens intermittently, ~70% of the time.
5d. Does NOT happen under WOT while at highway speed.
5e. ONLY happens 0-20mph, once rolling it goes away.
5f. Can't get it on video, tried. 100% inaudible, feels like a kid kicking the back of the driver's seat.
5g. I don't have kids.
6. All of the above symptoms happen regardless of sport, eco auto or manual modes.
7. All of the above symptoms are more noticeable when towing.

If the symptoms are more evident under load e.g. accelerating from stop, towing etc. my first thought would be a prop shaft bearing (or at least bushes). But, it could involve other areas of wear in the drive train (diffs, transfer etc); you have mileage in 6 figures, so some wear should be expected. All the symptoms described, including 4wd service warning, dash lights, plus inability to shift into low suggests an unhappy drive train, it may be time for an overhaul. I'd doubt it's anything to do with the model year or engine spec, apart from the possibility that the V8's torque if worked hard will put these components under greater stress. That's my take on it; will be interesting to see what others think.

Wheel speed sensor playing up, and transfercase fluid either cooked or it has been incorrectly replaced with atf4.
I had a 2010 WH QD2 hemi that had the same symptoms, although many years apart our cars share the same transfer case and wheel speed sensors

Get a bluedriver, OBD2 reader and get some codes, otherwise you are flying blind.
Sounds like a wheel speed sensor and wrong oil in tx case or rear diff. But just guessing need more info, or take it to Jeep and bend over. lol

Did you buy the car new? or has it just started happening? All at the same time?
Wondering if you have a couple separate issues.
See if a Transmission place can take a look at it and make some band adjustments for the harshness. The zf should be a reliable box.

I saw this under the recent posts. I had similar symptoms with the clunking and the "kicking" but not as extreme when I used the wrong oil in my JK's diffs. I didn't have binding either but to my mind, that would still point to diff before transfer case or gearbox.
