18"s with a good quality AT will give better grip, side wall protection and enable you to air down to a lower pressure giving a much better ride and grip.

Some great tracks in the area especially Blue Rag and Twins Jeep trk down into the Buckland valley and back into Bright via Porepunkah.

I ran a convoy from Porepunkah to Craigs Hut cross country and it is a fantastic trip, just make sure you have a full tank of fuel before heading off. All in all it can take around 6-7 hours but is well worth it.

Planning on doing a few day trips out of Bright
You will need to check back at the start of November. Often not all tracks are open at the start. Then there are major failures, the East Kiewa logging track is partly closed at the moment. Tiny little sign at Cranky Charlie advising of this.
Its worth a drive on the black top over the gap to Mt Beauty & then back via the Snowy Creek track.
There is a track out of Wandilligong that goes across to the Buckland that the last time I was up there was blocked with a 4' diameter tree trunk. Dont know it its been moved, probably need a bulldozer to move it.
There is a great model of the high country in the tourist info place in Mt Beauty. Its good for understanding where many of the tracks go.
