Exclamation '02 Cherokee trailer wiring

Hi all,
Is there a plug or socket built in to these trucks to 'plug' in to to attach trailer light wiring? I know all of my Land Rovers have had a socket somewhere but I don't know about these

Thank you

Oliver

There is on mine - an 05 that allows the mopar towbar harness to be plugged in. From memory there are two plugs both hidden behind the plastic panel on the drivers side just behond the rear seat. You have to remove the rear seat belts the rear seat and most of the internal trim to get to it (according to the instructions on the mopar kit)

G'day,
What steve said is mostly correct, but you can access the wiring without removing too many interior trim panels. The rear roof lining plastic bit, and the rear floor plastic lip will have to be removed (both really easy).

You can then pry the rear rhs quarter trim away from the panelwork - about 12". Inside the rear quarter section there's a white plug spliced into the lighting harness. There's also a rubber grommet plug that leads to the underside of the car. Feed your wiring up through this grommet and use a test pen to determine which of the wires need connecting.

Of course, the really easy way is to buy the trailer wiring harness coz all you'll have to do is plug it in!

Eric.
