I think I've figured out my water temp problem. I've found that my EGR Valve, that has been playing up for a little while, has now shat its self. I removed it and cleaned it up. Found that it was extremely stiff and would sometimes jam closed and throw a code, and loose power, but it was mostly jaming open. I cleaned it up, which freed it up and worked great for about 2 days. It has since died completely, so I'm just waiting for a new EGR Valve to arrive from the States. Once thats in and everythings running well I'll get the flash tune from CRDStu. Thanks again for the help guys. This forum is a god send. I can do most work on my Cherokee myself, it just helps sometimes to get a little input on what to look or check off. Thanks heaps guys.
Trevor.

I had exactly the same issue 2005 CRD, I tried replacing the electric fan switch, no joy. I then replaced the FAN CLUTCH, and Bingo, never had overheating problem since, even towing our 2500kgboat with Aircon flat out...........

Way to go Logan! I'll pass that on to a mate that has an overheating 2005 and can't find the reason.

We had the same problem a few years ago in Tassie. The KJ would heat up going uphill and the outside temp was only 14 degrees, however we were towing a caravan.Found out the radiator was 90% blocked with gunk.Had that replaced and never had an issue since.
