Trailer/caravan rear view cameras
Will have a Trailhawk delivered soon, and we will be getting a new motorbike/camper trailer. Been looking at rear view cameras and found this, which uses the Uconnect screen:
https://soundinmotion.com.au/product...camera-system/
However I'm thinking I would prefer a completely separate system rather than plug in to the Jeep's electronics. Also, would like something that has 2 cameras so I can have one inside the trailer to get a view of the bikes while towing.
Anyone have any experience/feedback or make recommendations good or bad on the various systems available? I know ARB have something suitable, they replace the windscreen rear view mirror with one that has camera view in the mirror. Not sure whether I would prefer this or a screen on the dash (which would cop a bit of sun in summer)
*edited to add:
I would like a system that I can select either or both cameras to be viewed at all times

I have a 'Safety Dave' system on my van, their gear is very good as is their customer service. Separate monitor with windscreen attachment, and it has multi-screen setting for 2 cams such as you're looking for. I use the Jeep's own cam for hitching up and the SD screen when towing, then neither interferes with the other.

I have used one of the rear view mirror type screens for years when towing our camper. I find it very "natural" as you simply look where you normally look and see the view from the back of the camper rather than see the front of the camper through the back window.
Works for me.
Mine is a generic one, not a name brand.
Cheers

No, I had the van custom built and the rear cam fitted during the build. I also had the wiring done on the car professionally while I was having a new brake controller fitted. I opted to have the monitor kept separate rather than interfere with the car's screen - not saying that having it integrated would have been wrong, just my choice, plus it will be easier to demount if I change the car. That all said, Safety Dave are extremely helpful and I'm sure would offer guidance on a DIY install, it's not that complicated anyway, just running wires through the car and tapping the right power source.
