Default Air intake

I cleaned out the air-intake and the air box, filter etcc yesterday..

I removed A lot of shit black gunk built up in air-intake and the sensor thingy on the side of it. It was like tar.

There is a bit of engine oil entering the air box from The hoses that run from the top of the rocker cover to the top of the air filter box.

Is it normal to have oil oozing into the air box and eventually down the air intake?
Can I remove the hoses/indescreatly, with out screwing anything up?
performance, economy or otherwise.

Are they there only for polution control or do they relieve some sort of air pressure in the rockercover.

please advise.

if u have oil comming from that line on your engine.. i think it means your overfilling your engine with oil tooo much!

the line comming from the top of the engine can be taken off while the engine is running just not when driving.. this is the block breather.. it does suck air in just not alot.. u can replace that line with a sepertate airfilter.. such as an Radio Controlled one.. perfect size and run better oil in the foam for thinner dust particals.. i do this and it runs fine..

im not sure if you have any other lines running into your air intake.. unless u run LPG or sumthing..

cheers

Cheers...

The oil level is not above the full mark.

And I was thinking of running its own filter just like you sugested.

The other hose comes from the top of the rocker cover towards the back closer to the fire wall. and it goes via a grey canister in ther engine bay, passenger side.
This one also hooks up to a hose comoing from the intake manifold.

The "greay canister" has another hose that comes from the vacume boost on the other side of the engine bay

oh ok, mine has the 2 lines on the motor but i only 1 goes to the air intake line.. im not sure 100% on the doings of those breathers but i just run the front line off the engine on a seperate filter and left the back one to were ever it goes..

ill take pics for u in a few mins of my all home job work.. the stock airbox broke into a million pieces so i has to custom make my own intake tubes.

yup like that.. i had a spare filter laying around, it fit nice and snug and works fine..

i dont run that POD filter anymore tho.. i now run a UNI Filter thats looks like a Parge Coke Can cylender shape.. nice and oily and doesnt let any dirt in at all.. runs cool around 70-80 but in heavy traffic around the usual 90-100.
