Hi all

amazing photo's! I live a few hundred K's south, in Bulgaria and the countryside is very similar...rugged and beautiful. Some of the tracks are quite a challenge, but the result at the end is always worth the effort.

I was born and raised in Australia, but have been lucky enough to travel over most of the world for one reason or another, but this part of Eastern Europe has some of the best and most rugged scenery I've come across.

I have a 2003 KJ Cherokee with the 2.5 CRD and it handles the countryside very well. It's snows heavily at this time of the year, so Xmas day might be a good time to go out and play with the Jeep....knee deep stuff couldn't stop it yesterday..have to find something deeper!!

Hi Bazz

We've been to Bulgaria quite often and saw almost everything from Beligradchik Rocks (east) to Pobite Camani (Stone Forest in west) and from Rock Monasteries in Ivanovo (north) down to The Beautiful Bridges in The Rodophe Mountains in the south bordering Greece.
Last month we extend our map to Turkey and explore European and Middle Asian shores of the Marmara Sea.
Fantastic part of the world can say and lucky to crawl arround!
Just wait and all above will be presented here in pics soon.

Happy Holidays &
Merry Christmass to you all!!!

John

Hi John

seems like you get out and about a bit to live life as it should be lived. We live in the shadow of the Rhodopi Mountains,,in fact, looking out of the window now, I see they have a solid covering of snow. My best mate [also my best man] has a fabulous home up in the mountains above Smolyan and he is spending Xmas and New Years up there as he runs it as a B and B and has guests. Spoke to him on the phone an hour ago and he says the snow is about a metre deep! I've had my Nissan Patrol up there in snow that deep, so may have to take the Jeep up and see how it goes.

If you are planning on coming down this way again, give me a nod and we can catch up.

In the meantime, have a happy and safe Xmas.
