Had this about 6 months ago. Must be a simple fix as it only took the dealer about an hour.

This came up at least a year ago, pretty slow with the mail I rackon, a number of posts on the issue here but you would have to do a search on recalls. I checked my vin and since it was one of the last I was clear.

yep , once for my 2002 build , once for kj build 2002 , and the third the other day on both , even though my 2002 wj has been unreg and is sitting in back yard with a bent broken chassis , ALL letters state they are waiting for the replacement part.

I received mine a couple of weeks ago as well which I find quite funny.

The initial faults started in 2012 with one side curtain airbag "self deploying" on a WG in Sydney and was the impetus on FCA starting to get the recall happening here in Aus.

I was working at a dealership when the parts started to arrive back in 2013, first for the KJ and several months later for the WG.

We were the first dealership to get the recall wiring looms in to fit and make sure they were working fine.

They didn't work on all vehicles! There's a difference in the wiring looms in the WG's that do and don't have SRS side curtain airbags.

If you plugged the wiring loom into the SRS side curtain airbag equipped vehicle it would illuminate the airbag light which would be translated into a fault.
As soon as the wiring loom was removed the check airbag light went off.

When I spoke to the engineers at FCA about this they had no idea there were two separate wiring looms in two completely different vehicles.

It's taken almost two years so far just to get the "new recall" letters to go out and they still don't have any parts for it. I can't see the new improved section of loom arriving this year.

I had a customer who bought in their WG without the airbag light on and after fitting the recall part the light did come one and stay on.
They were put into a rental car by FCA until the issue was fixed. That was in January of 2014. I've since left the dealership and I wonder if they are still in the FCA supplied loan car?
