Shop around.

I think it is the 5.7L that might be causing such premiums.

As an old coot my insurance is about $600 for the same vehicle, thats with RACQ. What I did with my kids was insure their vehicles in my name with them as an approved driver and that saved them heaps, though they would cop a hefty excess if they pranged it, once they hit 25 they could change to having it in their name and they had an A! rating to boot.

i changed my insurance today to youi full comp is $404 with windscreen cover & $600 excess. my old cover was with racv $539 & $550 excess. thats a saving of $135 a year.

That's what I have done on my current car, It's in my mums name. IF I got teh Grand Insurance will have to be in my name because Finance in my name.

I think because it's a "turbo" regardless petrol or Diesel they charge a premium.
BTW My WG 01 is $1000/yr and Ive never had a claim butliving in Sydney is bad I suppose. I think I might have to shop around more next renewal from what I just read.

Also don't really rely on the initial quote. Some companies give you a discount the first year to get you in then ramp it up the following years as they think that you won't bother checking the following years.
