Quick Conversions based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating and http://www.pencilgeek.org/2009/05/oc...nversions.html
US 87, 91, 94
AU 91.1, 95.3, 98.5
but as there is no exact formula due to the different styles of measurement they are to be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm not sure their fuel is technically better but their rating system is different, they use MON we use RON. Don't ask me what the actual differences are.
You are right the numbers are different but I think you will find it's more like their 87 MON is similar to our 91 and their 91 our 95.
What's in the owners manual for the V8. I believe it is a fairly low compression (9.0:1) engine so there should be no need for high octane, nor any real performance benefit. Any name brand 91 should be fine.

Yeah, I'm not so sure neither. That's what I was told. Probably a bit of an exageration but there's some truth to it.
Anyway, OP has his answer, they're all OK. I go midway 95

Thanks everyone for the info and the links, that helped.
I'll stick with 95 but good to know that 91 is good as well, and that 98 only makes sense on the HO version.
Cheers
