The additive (Friction Modifier) makes the differential slip better. Great if you drive on bitumen and are a soccer mum who doesn't want the wheels to chirp when doing a u-turn. If you are serious and use the car to it's capabilities, make sure you get a diff oil WITHOUT any FM. This means the diff can lock lke it's supposed to when offroad, giving much better traction.

Pmac is correct. Also dont run an lsd oil in a quadradrive diff or it will not operate properly. Castrol SAF-XA Synthetic 80w-140 is a lsd oil it just doesnt tell you that anymore on the packaging. I made the mistake of running it and found the front diff stopped locking when a wheel was in the air. To my knowledge the only suitable oil is the dealer oil or the redline.

Thanks for the info.. will order some from redline.Traction won't be a problem soon as I have 30 spline cromo axles on the way with an arb centre. Just need some oil to top up as a seal has gone on one side and don't want to replace untill my new axles arrive.

ARB centre?? Will that be an open diff or will there be an airlocker?? I'd love a locker, but didn't think they did them anymore.

An ARB airlocker from the states?? ARB is an Australian company, so they probably shipped it over there now it's coming back.
