An XJ is too awesome for you if you have to ask how long it will last. XJs never die - they just donate organs so the brotherhood lives on.

Too true my old 94 xj had 365,000+ ks on her when i sold it & shes still going strong , XJ's are like gammers. they dont die , they just re-spawn lol

Rebuild the transmission and put a stroker in it and she will live again...

If you have a look on some of the American forums (naxja etc) those guys get 300,000 miles on a fairly regular basis. Frequent oil changes and keeping the engine and transmission cool are probably some of the more important factors for long life.

Oh, and as long as there isn't anything too major wrong with it and you can do some work on it yourself you should snap it up in an instant! How many other proper 4 wheel drives could you get for the same price, let alone one with a 4.0 six, an auto and leather interior?

my xj just turned 389,000 k, motor had the head done about 7.5 years ago, tranny is original, and much to my shame has only had one service in the 12 years ive owned it

(note to me : must service tranny)

Newcastle??? Where??? If you don't, I will grab it for the Leather and spares at that price. Mine has much more K's than that and goes like it's stolen.
