Default Feedback on 2013 my14 v8 engine

Im looking at maybe getting a second gc as a second car at our holiday property.
Found an early wk2 overland (2013 my14) with a 5.7 v8.
Done 212,000km. Wondering if the v8s have long lives, reliable etc?

I would look into how wide spread the cam lobe lifter failure is before committing to a Hemi. I have the impression from reading US forums about the modern mopar hemi it’s not a matter of if but when they will trash a lobe/lifter.

Same part number non mds lifters in all variations of the hemi engine. In around 2015 larger needle rollers were put in the lifters, still failing! Now a class action progressing in the US re lifter failures! As you state not if but when!Usually 60000 ks up but a few even earlier! Many theories why lifters are failing, however certain GM motors having the same problems with class action also!

I might add a certain Melbourne hemi specialist is rebuilding at least one a week with lifter failures.plus other major hemi rebuilders around Australia doing similar numbers!

My WH Overland with the 5.7 Hemi with MDS had 192,000 kms on it when I sold it...the motor was excellent, no Hemi tick, didn't use oil, was a beautiful thing.

I changed the oil regularly...5,000 km intervals...and did not let it idle for excessive periods...always warmed it at 1000rpm sfter cold starts to ensure oil splash to the cam and followers...

Problems with the lifters only started to happen from around 2011 on Gen 3 motors ie WKs,SRTs,Rams ,etc
