I have an 4.5" RE SA kit with 1" of body lift and am running 35" Cooper STs on 15x8 MT Classic II rims.

It was engineered by a local engineer in the Snowy Mountains (Col Potts). I asked him before he came out whether he wanted it presented with the standard tyres and rim or whether he would look past the tyres and wheels and just engineer it with the bigger wheels and tyres on. He didn't have any issues with the rims. I know that this could be questioned / over-ruled but the guys at the local RTA checking station trust his judgement and don't seem to be concerned so long as he was happy to sign off.

I must admit that the process was a whole lot less complicated than it was when I went through the process last time in Vic with my GU but that might be just one of the benefits of living rurally now
