2013 Wrangler Program Additional Keys
Hi there!
I just purchased yesterday my first Wrangler after wanting one since I was a kid!
Loving it, but thought I'd purchase a couple of spare keys just in case one is lost etc (don’t want to pay >$150 at a dealer). However after following the directions of putting the first factory issued key in and turning to ON, waiting over 5 seconds then repeating with the second factory key but waiting till a chime and the security light to flash, the car just won't go into programming mode, nothing happens at all. I’ve scoured the interwebs but these seem to be the only directions for this.
Does anyone have any experience with this on a 2013 Wrangler? Has the procedure changed for reasons beyond me?
It’s a 2 Door, Overland.
Cheers,
Phil

To program extra keys using your factory keys can only be done in the US as that function is disabled in the export Jeeps.
It's a Aus Jeep thing, sorry but they disabled it for the Australian versions.

Daymnnn. ozjeepster, I've got the keys cut and am good to go on that front, so now I just need to go down to the dealer and sacrifice a kidney? Could it be something they can throw in at the 1000km service?
Is there any way to re-enable the customer learn programming mode? Or does that just get messy?
Thanks for the replies so far!

I've successfully programmed an extra key on my 2011 JK CRD. Not sure if it's been changed since then.
