Question New CRD - need some advice

Hi, I just bought a new Laredo CRD in which I was planning on installing a duel battery system and UHF radio that I still have from my last 4WD and I am after some advice:

Where is the best place to fit a second battery. There doesn't appear to be enough room under the hood?

Where is the best place to fit the CB antenna (I don't have a bull bar on this 4wd and was not planning to put one on), on the roof racks (is there a mount that you can buy that will fit the jeep racks) or front bonnet and where to run the CB cable through the fire wall?

If it's a WG CRD there ain't nowhere to put a battery under the bonnet that I ever found......

I ran a Thumper in the boot and charged it off the 1 volt outlet back there but found in the end it wasn't needed at all. Fridge would generally keep cold anyway even if it did switch off after a few hours, but then again we were always on the move the next day so the re-charging happened anyway.

azwaller,

If its the WH there is not much room for the full size dual battery set up in the engine bay an I dont know anyone who has done it. For the CB there is a compartment under the steering wheel where you can fit the remote units and the head piece goes into the bottom tray in front of the gear selector. there is also a company in the US who is selling the rear CB mount which looks good but as yet I dont know anyone in Aust who has one fitted. see http://www.4xguard.com/Products/antenna.html
