That's brilliant, thanks mate.

This has been really helpful. I'm considering with the Dueller 697. Seems like a good balance of the things I need and I can't find a bad word anywhere. Wouldn't mind going up a size to get some height, but maybe I will need to consider a lift kit at some stage as the dueller doesn't seem to come in anything but 265/60 in the 18" range

Bridgestone 697 LT285/60R18 on my 2014 overland, used to touch slightly on full lock until I had a uneek bar fitted now it's ok.
Only problem is slight whining due to the aggressive tread, is good in bush and in the wet and wear appears half way at 40,000

G'day Benno, like you I have a 18" Laredo alloy rim as a spare and went down a slightly different path to restraining the spare. I have used a tiedown strap hooked around the original "spare tyre restraint bolt", brought the strap up through the spokes of the wheel, over the centre of the wheel and across the wheel/tyre, back under the spare and hooked the other end of the strap back onto the "spare tyre restraint bolt". Tightened up the strap ratchet, tahdah jobs done!

I have put the jack gear into a padded bag and that is stowed in the underside of the spare. I have been able to keep the bins in place and the lid closed fully. this is with Hankook Dynapro AT/M 265/60R18 tyres fitted.

An added bonus to having the spare mounted this way is that the tyre pressure is much easier to check having the valve uppermost. As always, the easier you make things, the more likely they are to get done! The other plus is I don't have to remove the wheel centre cap to restrain the alloy spare.

On an aside, am I the only one who overinflates the spare (by 5 PSI) on the basis that it is always easier to let air out then put it in? I do always carry a tyre pressure gauge but much less often carry an air compressor.

I went for a bridgestone HT tyre for the spare 255/70R18 to match diameter. Haven't needed it yet.
I went the same route as BennO(275/65r18 and 255/70r18 spare) but the Cooper At3s and I've had no rubbing yet

I made a decision to go up to the 265/65/18, which unfortunately counts out the dueler, but it does give me other options.

I was quoted $329 per corner for a set of Ko2s in that size, which seems almost too good to be true. I note that these tyres have the raised white lettering, which makes me think they are an old release, because the ones on the bfg website now don't have it. Can anyone shed some light on this?
