Gross vehicle mass
Was just wondering what the weights were on a 4.0L petrol grand Cherokee. I know the tow weight is 2227 and the tow ball weight is 227, was wondering what the other weights were?

Be careful as it depends on the year the early WG's had a lighter towing capacity as the later years, check your data plate for the ADR approved tow weight for your year, on most cars it is inside the drivers door jamb at the base of the B pillar.

The values are the same for all models too, the higher spec models will have more fruit so they are likely to be heavier. The Laredos are likely to be lighter and have a better overall payload.

Mine's a 99 Laredo, and inside the front door it only says the two weights I printed above/before. These ARE different to what the red book says, so does that mean that the GVM and payload are different?

GVM and payload are very different, GVM is the total amount the vehicle can weigh with all accessories/load. Payload is how much crap/people/accessories you can add to the truck.

Later WG's had 2.9t towing capacity from memory or was it (3.1T?) I must refresh the memory by checking the data plate on the daughters car.
