Default 3rd problem to hit at the same time P0299 low turbo boost.

I'm starting to think the wife tried to kill the Jeep while I was away so she could get a new car.

So far serpentine belt, harmonic balancer and front diff bushes have been replaced..... now.....

Error code P0299 low turbo pressure, and the mechs that did the diff said it had problems, possibly a leak/broken pipe?

Drove it home and it was ok if driven like an old lady on her way to bowls, you couldn't put the boot in as nothing happened. NO car wanted to be behind me due to the excessive amount of black smoke I left behind.

Now I've had the turbo actuator problem with the 300c but this is so different.
I'm sure i put all the turbo gear on the front back correctly and sealed properly. She claims that when her boy came around to have a look, when they started it, huge amounts of black smoke came from under the car, in the vicinity of the motor.
Can a broken/split pipe cause this smoke and low pressure?

The ad says "she bought a jeep".. well no she didn't, i bought it for her, and if we had a dog, i would be fighting the dog for kennel space.

Hey Amused2Death

Spot of bad luck your having there
There is an EGR cooler in the valley of the CRD
There is EGR piping behind the left cylinder head
There are three exhaust connections at the rear of the engine

Low boost could mean a bad charge pipe too
There's an o'ring on the aluminium tube that feeds the turbo
The plastic resonators on the front of the engine have been know to crack
Double check your turbo boost/piping/intercooler/piping connections

Hope that helps, oh and remember;
whilst it's OK to sleep with the dog,
never share his food

Behind the throttle body is a sensor, put your hand behind the block just above the black hose attached to the body. See if that sensor is in place. They have a bad habit of the clips breaking and falling out under pressure.

Also check the intercooler hasn't been punctured at the front where the middle screw goes through the bumper behind grille.
Not so uncommon.

All sorted, it was a buggered turbo pipe, which then required the computer codes to be deleted and whatever reset so they could do the same with the trans so it would work properly again.
Total cost was $1560, but that included $880 labour / repair charges for 2 separate visits. Serpentine belt, harmonic balancer, front diff bushes all replaced.
I searched but could not locate the air leak in the EGR, and no I didn't ask where the leak was as it had been a long day and all I cared about was having it back running.

Once again she goes like a scalded cat.
