KJ rear upper control arm - spacers.
I have drawn up a spacer to fit between the rear upper control arm and the diff to reduce the angle of the control arm due to the 2" raise of the vehicle. The spacer has a spiggot on one end to fit into the diff hole where the toggle bush would normally go, and a hole at the other end where the toggle bush will now go. It basically reduces the angle of the pivot points. An alternative is to place a spacer between the outer ends of the control arm and the body, again reducing the angle of the control arm, then the central toggle bush can just be installed normally. An engineer friend cannot see any dangerous side effects providing the securing points do not loose any integrity. Wacky idea?????

Thanks, not often anyone replies to posts. Did you put the spacer at the diff end or outer ends. And did you use any special material or just mild steel block or round. As a side issue have you heard any comments about the superpro bushes and toggle bush.

On the WJ the best place for the spacer is between the ball joint and the control arm as the Ball joint is a bolt on arrangement, not a press in.
It’s possible to use pretty much any material but the polyurethane like used in cutting boards is good, it’s light, and pretty much impervious to oils and salt. And it’s made the same thick ness as the amount of lift, so a 2” lift, means a 2” spacer, this gives you the identical relationship in the geometry to try to preserve the life of the Ball joint.

Good luck, the JBA rear Diff bracket that I had was garbage, it beat itself to death on outback corrugations.
