Default Need some info - for the non Jeep guy.

In the USA jeep used an AW4 auto transmission. Was this used in australia, if so what model is it in and what t-case was on it NP243?

Found it was used in the USA in XJ & ZJ Cherokee's and had NP242 and NP231 t-cases.

Was it used in aussie ZJ's & XJ's

If you want to fit it in your hilux ... you might be better off sourcing one from a toyota.

Surfs / Tundras / Soarers / Cressidas / Lexus

AW4 in Jeeps are A340 in Toyotas and Volvos - the 340 had a few variants.

All Aust XJs had AW4 as std.

MV Automatics in Adelaide are supposed to the gurus in Oz for AW4 / A340.

May have something there or just get one from a wreckers ???
