4WD action did a huge write up on this. these two shocks both where rated very highly i think tough dog ended up coming out on top over all but the TJM golds where awarded the best budget all rounder soo maybe it is worth tracking down this issue of 4WD action as the reviews where extremely high detailed????

how i have no actual personal experience with either... but i have mates with 3inch tough dog GU lift kits and say they wuoldn't buy anything else soo i'd say its good stuff!

Wink XGS 40mm

Hey Man,

Not too sure about what they're selling now, but 2 years ago I put a 40mm XGS lift in my 4dr Petrol, and they're great guns. No problems, I do a fair bit of mud work in winter, and in Summer all over the Dunes.

Only downside is 40mm is 10mm less than most other kits, and I wish that I'd gone with 2.5" lift. Can clear 35's with 4.5" backspaced wheels on a 2.5" lift. On the upside, if (read : when) I buy 0.75" coil spacers I'll get 2.6" so I guess it kinda works out well.

Tough Dog do have a pretty good write up though. A friend of mine is running them on a 6" lift in a patrol but sways all over the place. If you're on a budget, I'd say go for the XGS, if you can afford the Tough Dogs, go for them. Just my 2c.

Hey Flexy,

Where do you get these for less than 1K? Is that including postage?
