Default $254 for a rear bearing kit for WJ, WHAT THE!!!!

Had the Wj finally serviced yesterday. Had to get both the rear seals done so I thought I may aswell get the bearings done as well.

I already had one kit there that cost me $50, so I thought I may as well just get the other one from my mechanic as it would be easy for him to match seeing I already had one.

Went to pick it up and ******** me the rear bearing kit along was $254!!!!! Suffice to say I had a few words to him, I can't blame him he is a really good mechanic and has always looked after me in the past. SO he rang his supplier and they gave him $6o off the original price.

Anyone else had to pay this sort of price?

Quoted? yes. Paid? no

Although once after two days of belting on the axle to get a noisy bearing out, I was about to pay anything!!!

Are you sure you didn't get 4 bearing kits????

The bearing shop in Gatton quoted me like $57 awhile ago, Timken and I think he also mentioned the 1 tonner was the same.

Was that price from a steeler ship? I have found in the past that bearing companies make kits for just about evrything, you just need to research it. Like the post here on the Holden 1 Tonner
