It isn't as bad as it sounds, Geely own Volvo already and they didn't do too bad in the V8 supercar series. LOL

+1

Jaguar Land Rover is owned by India's Tata Motors. In the case of Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover it seems their new owners recognize the value of the brand and throw support at their success. Plus they seem to bucketloads of money available to do so.

That said, can't ignore the fact that Chinese ownership has seen MG completely lose it's identity, but to be fair MG was a bit 'lost' before Chinese ownership.

It might be a good thing if it means Jeep are given independence and support from their owner, rather than being acquired by another global giant and limited to being able to build vehicles out of the corporate parts bin.

i don't understand why everyone panics when something is bought by a chinese company . they will still continue to make it where it is . Volvo if anything moved ahead leaps and bounds after being bought by a chinese company .

I fail to see how this would affect anything

Geely owns volvo and the cars have only gotten better and are still volvo's so why would it be any different . It's just a different owner, cars will stay the same, still be badged a jeep and still be a jeep underneath .

I couldn't care less who owns a brand as long as the standards are maintained .

IMO it Could only improve the product, as the asian service culture is far superior to american and european.

Just look where the best brands for durability, reliability and more importantly real factory and dealer support come from Korea and Japan, both were once looked upon as inferior but nowadays they build better more reliable vehicles than most other makers in the world.

Just read JD Power ratings for vehicles sold into the worlds largest car market prove that year after year.

The chinese are on a rapid technological learning curve just look at how far their vehicle products have improved since the first ones appeared in our market.
Ask anybody who has visited china and seen the way they take hold of any problem and quickly produce a technical solution.
