I can get 6 new commodore 777 injectors for 130 bucks. I've heard they will work?

Overload your brain in that thread!

I've just installed them. fitting them along with replacing a leaky manifold gasket saw a 5l/100k drop going by the overhead console(within 1% says history) power is slightly up. Car definately runs smoother... Gasket or injectors NFI?

Have had some other issues (see my lumpy idle thread) that came up at the same time I did that work. Haven't got as far as if it's related or not.

Have you got a way to read the 02 sensor outputs? That will help alot too.

Thanks mate. I'll have a good read. I think the O2 sensor needs replacing. The car decides to try to stall (try) everyone and then. Especially when I get down the hill ( in Perth about a 5km drive down from the hills)

Have a read up on the computer you have and the inputs it reads and hobbit effects each other.

All sensors need to read inside a certain range.. Usually voltage or resistance. If they are outside this range then things won't run right.

Buy a suitable scanner and start looking at various components. It will be priceless in the long run.

My XJ started to splutter and nearly stall when going down hills a few months ago. It would come okay again and run fine. Then it started getting more and more frequent until it was every hill, up or down, and it would actually stall. Turned out to be the fuel filter. I've got the 2000 XJ so the pump/filter is in the tank. Just thought I'd share that in case yours gets worse on the hills.

Why do you think filter and not the pump? Filter is more like a sock and must be quite glogged before not letting enough fuel through ...
