Default "On Board Air"/engine driven compressor

Anyone fitted an engine driven air compressor to the 3.8L V6? I was looking at the ORO site and came across the York compressor mounting kit:

https://secure48.mysecureorder.net/o...1rdni2m0kocl61

Now their complete kit is a bit rich for mine at US$1200 and includes a lot of stuff I'd rather put together myself like the airtank and hoses and fittings; but at US$200 for the mounting kit it's getting more attractive to piece it together myself.

Anyone know where to get a York compressor from?

The York compressor looks very similer to the A/C compressors used in the early ford falcons (XD-XF). These had a sump for the lubricating oil instead of the oil being mixed with the gas. Might be worth speaking to an A/C specialist about what vehicles use a modern York.

Have a look on the endless air site. You might be able to combine one of their compressors with the ORO mounting kit.

I've been doing some more research and have read both the ORO and Kilby kit instructions, both of which mount a York compressor to roughly the same part of the serpentine belt but with different orientations. I'm not interested in the Kilby arrangement as it involves cutting plastic off, bending things, changing A/C hoses and extending the alternator wiring, among other things. The ORO method by comparison is relatively "bolt on" without requiring hacking. I've also seen York compressors on ebay for around $400 so I'm interested enough to go and see some radiator/A/C blokes I know and see what they can do or start hitting the wreckers.
