Rockauto don't sell any Mopar (OEM) stuff.
I get my Mopar thermostats from USA but local dealers still sell them too.

why would you buy a high priced Mopar stat? they dont make their own, just contract it out with their part number added to it

Stant or Tridon are just as good and are held in high regard. its the no name brand or auto store brand that you have to be careful of

and Rockauto does often, but not always, sell genuine Mopar stuff, including the stat at US$17.08 each https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...hermostat,2200

if you know the Mopar part number, enter it in the Rockauto search and see if it comes up

Well, I learned something today - thanks guys
I've never found Mopar parts on Rockauto before.
When looking for parts I enter Jeep, 1997, Wrangler, 4L, then the part I'm after, in this case Cooling, Thermostat.
I've never seen the option for Mopar parts pop up doing it this way, so just assumed they weren't available on Rockauto.

Seems like it was the thermostat. replaced it, now running perfectly again. Let's hope this one lasts a while longer.

Just to add. It is always worth testing your thermostat (new ones also) before you install them so you don't have to go through the whole issue of re-installing. Just chuck it in a pot of water on the stove.

Great tip! Some things never change

I used to do that check before installing a new thermo on the ole 186, even back then they were hit and miss.
