So I've had mine fixed twice before, and now its making the same horrible creaky/cracking sounds as before... this is sh***ing me something chronic!
Anyone know of a decent repairer I could try? I don't even mind paying my own way, I'm just sick of the worry

Also make sure the bolts in the trackbar bracket are tight. The ones you can see down beside the coil on the side of the chassis.

When you think there tight enough, then try another 1/4 turn. I get cracking nose from bottom control arm body mount bolt also (I'm on RE arms).
Hey xjdavid, was good to catch up with you & Rob the other sunday thanks for popping in... Was almost like a Tool Box Day.

Wikchi, somewhere earlier in this thread (can't remember what page sorry) is a phone number to call Jeep and get them to check it. They need the VIN number and can tell you what month and year it had the recall checked. Mine (a 95 Sport) had been checked twice; once in 97 and then in 98 and they tried to tell me that was job done as far as they were concerned. I eventually won the argument and they fixed it. Be aware that several times when I rang them my VIN number magically didn't show up and I had to tell them it was definitely there and gave them the dates they told me my XJ was checked. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN and GET REFERENCE NUMBERS FOR YOUR CALLS.
My XJ is great now, no issues and was fixed properly, was a bit of a headache to get there but worth it.
Hope this helps.
Regards, Squire
