Sorry mate, yes use the main leafs and cut the eyes off. The boys are coming around Sunday to rebuild the CJ5 trailer so if your free, bring it all & I'll help if you need.... don't forget the center bolts

You can cut the spring perches off and weld on Rubicon ones. This will give you another 1/2 inch.

Hanging.
You need to compare the unloaded curve of the leaf with what you are looking at adding to it.
When you assemble the leaf pack with the different leaf, you will need to clamp it together as the replacement leaf will have a different curve. Yo may need to drill a new center hole as well. A cobalt drill bit or similar will be needed to drill the hole.

If you are talking front ones, it would be easier to add lifting blocks.

Cheers Al I'm up at cruiser park this weekend but if I get home early on sun I might swing by to say g'day. Also the front springs are from greenos truck so I'd say they have already settled.

Thanks for all the replies, I've read that lift blocks can cause heaps of problems with springs bending etc.

In saying that is there any where in Brisbane that I could get some today as it would be nice to get a bit more height for the weekend.

Unloaded....but hanging down with the weight of the axle and tyre assemblies pulling the leafs somewhat down...causing perhaps more curve than they "out of the vehicle" leafs would show...or am I now over-thinking this a bit too much?

And how to decide which leaf to take from the donor pack!?

My sport came with a stock 1" lift...the reason I', looking into this, is that I want to restore some of the load carrying capacity and is quite "soft" in the rear to drive as well

I am just saying what I did.
Bit of drooping was small.
I used the most bent leaf ( longest without shackles).
If you want load carrying, look at what they do for them commercially. They have a very thick leaf at the bottom of the pack so that when it goes down a little it does nothing until it comes into play & then it stops most of the bending.
I have sports as well. 1" lift standard on them.
