Default Battery change
Just a quick question, is it necessary to connect a 12v power supply to the vehicle while changing the battery over to avoid losing any settings?

Seems to depend on how long it's out of the vehicle for. They can be a bit fiddly to get in and out, so I would (and did) just to be safe. Just make sure the seat is all the way forward and up before taking the old one out

Other than radio and such which will go to default, important stuff like engine is okay...but you could hook a jump start to the jump terminals to keep things, make sure you insulate the battery wires as you remove them or you will have other problems than lost radio settings.... I wouldn't and don't as the chance of arcing something is increased and more trouble than its worth.
