thats exactly right. Alot of young guys in the mini truck scene (air bags etc etc) are getting nailed all the time. Even with all the mods engineered. The filth can still slap a defect on your car and make your life a misery for anything they like. In this state, it aint worth shit except for insurance id imagine.
I will engineer my CJ once i do the engine conversion and disk brake system. But for my XJ running 4.5" lift and 31"s im not going to waste my money. The things not fully insured anyway.

Slightly off topic question, but can anyone tell me if an Engneering Cert is honored from state to state? Eg. if a Vehicle is Engineered in VIC, is that still recognised if subsequently registering the vehcile in QLD?

Don't think so, as each state can't agree on a common law. THus there is a push for a national standard but I don't think it's passed.

True, burt why go to all the effort to get your rig enginerred then not get a new blue slip and re-register with the RTA. Seem's like a waste of money if you ask me. The police can't bug you after that.

Sorry, i should have mentioned that this will be done for the CJ. This will need to be done due to having a new engine number.
I think alot of people arent aware of getting the blue slip after having an engineers cert issued.
