When I had the last cooler one replaced, the guys at 7 Slot had originally planned to replace just the cooler itself, but when I turned up with the whole bracket and cooler mounting assembly they moaned that that was a longer more complex job than just replacing the cooler itself.

They do plenty of just the cooler and gasket replacements with no dramas it seems. ...hence I will always use a reputable workshop such as 7 Slot to do any of these types of jobs on my Jeeps...they at least pay attention to detail.

When you actually look at how the complete bracket assembly mounts as opposed to just the cooler itself, you can see it could be a bigger job.

I have looked at it and really most jobs on this engine seem like one big pain, give me my old Cruiser any day, I could climb into the engine bay....... When I let anyone loose with a spanner on mine I have vetted them very well..... actually other than a spring shop swapping out the front springs nobody else has touched it and that was because my hands are stuffed now.

My Jeep Bits Book shows a Oil Cooler from Goss as a OC126 ........... a few similar coolers around the diesel WK2 identified as EXF is the one.
