Doesn't anyone go driving in South Australia? Just registered and looked up this topic, and NONE suggested in SA!
Took my brand new KJ Sport to the Flinders last week and had a ball. Tried the track across Nilpena Station to the edge of Lake Torrens, the Echo Camp backtrack at Arkaroola, and the track on Arkaba Station, amongst others, and they are all good 4wd tracks with plenty of interest.
If anyone knows any good tracks that can be included in a day from Adelaide, let me know.

Pipeliner - I agree - was disappointing not to see any tips for SA.

We've recently done Skytrek (Willow Springs) - not exactly challenging but an enjoyable trek with great views over Flinders. Grades probably mostly slightly less challenging that Echo Backtrack.

Also did a round trip from Arkaroola to Balcanoona, Lake Frome (a side trip), Grindells Hut in the Gammons, Yadnina, Yankaninna HS, Umberatana HS and back to Arkaroola. Takes bulk of a day; unfortunately - except for shredding tyres - very little challenge.

There must be something closer ... would appreciate any tips you might pick up.

Cheers

theres a run down south to Cock scrub. Dunes down the Sth. East but thats a 5hr run well worth it though. Grant is running a trip to the pyrenese( cant spell )that's about 5hrs and a weekend of glorious mud. I tend to play around my local area in the Adelaide hills on the fire trails and local forests, CFS key grants me access, and locals know me. But not entirely legal. There are several 4by clubs to play with just head into any 4by shop and they'll point you in the right direction. Try Tom Hewittson at 4WD SYSTEMS. all for now Johnboy

Guys, Jeep club AGM is the next meeting (June) - get details through Adelaide Chrysler. They're looking for trip and event suggestions for the next 12 months, so this would be a good meeting to get along to. Can strongly recommend - they're a great bunch, and a good mix of XJs, Wranglers and Grands. Some KJs turning up would be most welcome, I'm sure.
