G'day from SA
Picked up a cheap WJ 2.7CRD Grand Cherokee Laredo - my first Jeep! (OK, so it's not new - but I'm not gonna spend $65k+ on a new one and take it out bush).
Bought it to take me around Australia, in particular Australia's 'Top-End', where I'll be visiting remote Christian indigenous communities, where I'm invited to come and speak, pray, teach and bring requested supplies, etc. A round trip of around 8000kms, on everything from bitumen highways, gravel roads, dirst tracks, river crossings and rocky escarpments.
I made a similar smaller trip through central desert region of Northern Territory back in November last year. Did have a problem with transmission going into limp-home mode, but once I got it home I was able to cancel that with a cheap ELM327 OBD2 scanner and JeepWJpro software on my phone. Haven't had any further trouble - running a dream! A trip to Arnhem Land in April - if coronavirus hasn't locked us down.
Looking forward to reading all Jeep posts, maybe even learning some tip or two.
God bless,
DacorDave
P.S. If you don't already have one, I recommend an OBD2 ELM327 scanner and the JeepWJpro software - for just a little under $50 it will save you heaps!
