New Member with a Question
Hi, this is my first post.
My faithful landrover 110 is just about knackered and I will be buying a new vehicle within the next couple of months.
Some background, I drive around 35,000 to 40,000 km’s per year mainly on remote country roads and tracks some of which can get a little tricky.
I’m looking the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon JL as a replacement. I have read up on the TL model and am not worried by the reported issues. Most of my previous vehicles have had their strengths, weaknesses and idiosyncrasies.
My initial thoughts were to go with the 2.2 litre diesel. As for the last 30 odd years I have always had diesel engines in my off road vehicles. What stunned me was the additional cost of the diesel engine. Is it that good?
So after the long winded intro, my question to those who own JL Wranglers. In your experience. Is the diesel worth the extra cost? And how reliable is it compared to the pentastar V6 petrol engine? I understand that types of engines are a personal preference but an genuinely interested in the views and experience of people with both engine types.
My initial thoughts are to go with the petrol motor, though a little thirsty it seems to be well sorted.
Thanks and Regards,
