PCV valve

Went into the Jeep dealer the other day and asked for a new PCV valve for my WH 2007 GC 5.7lt.
He said that he did not have one and there were none in the country. I inquired about what they did when they needed a new one for customers and he told me that they just wash the old one and put it back. The PCV valve is supposed to be inspected and replaced if necessary as part on routine maintenance. I know this sounds hard to believe. I think I will ring another dealer and try again. Maybe there was a misunderstanding.

Thats whats been done to PCV's for years, just give it a wash and blow job and stick it back in, usually just gunk that stops em working, they aren't very high tech, you can do it yourself when you clean the air filter on your mower, same sort of job.

Are you supposed to clean the air filter on your mower, I thought they were fit for life components.

Only until the engine stops then I do a major service on the thing or just go and buy a new one, far easier that way.

Service light on the mower is an engineering feat. What happens is the pull cord breaks just after the major service interval has elapsed by 2 years or the warranty has expired, which ever comes first.
