Been a while since I updated this build and quite a few items have been removed from Silver JK which has now sold and been put on the Red JKU.

AEV 2.5"lift was taken off and installed and the springs were changed out to new ones as recommended by Stu from Murchison products for a touring JK with also 4x4 parks kept in mind for when I wheel with thwe Brisbane Jeep Club. Also fitted the AEV front and rear bar and winch.

Fitted my Yakima Megawarrior back on the Sharpwrax rack and my Superpeg fox wing awning.

Next up was 33" Maxis Bighorns, certainly made the lift look better and gave it a nice stance.

Once that was all done we were ready for the first trip away to Fraser for a week.

Loaded up.

Sandy Cape

The JKU preformed as expected, it was much nicer to have more room, loaded up we managed 12.9 L per 100km from Brisbane to Inskip.

When we got back i cut down the original plastic guard of the front bumper and made it fit under the AEV one, it did a good job of tidying this area up and was cheaper the the AEV steel bash plate

Next put in the new Uniden UH8060NB UHF radio and moved the ariel of the front AEV hoop.

Another update as some bits arrived while I was away in NZ

Smittybilt G.E.A.R tailgate organizer arrived from Amazon US (AU $80 on special) the other day so I installed that, very easy and happy with the quality, have managed to cram the 2 bags with lots of stuff that was under the seats, also plenty of room for a couple of other bags.

Also had the Red ARB diff covers front and rear put on, the red matches my Jeep very well.

Also purchased some GraBars USA and fitted them into the Jeep (pic to come of them installed) which has made it much easier for my wife to get in and out, installed they nearly look like factory items.

Great build so far mate. Looks like a great setup for touring so far.

In your second last post though between your front lawn and the pre-Fraser shots you lost your rock sliders and gained a snorkel? Haha.

PS, I know what you mean about the uneasy feeling going up steep hills in a shorty. Telecom hill and Jim's jump up at landcruiser park on the weekend had me looking at the sky and thinking hmmmmm
