Unfortunately the car I have my sound system in is wider then the Jeep and the drivers A pillar is close but I managed to get it to work nicely, not perfect but nice and subtle as well....

Good job on the V-dub but too out there for my liking....

Sounds good.

My Jeep originally came with a cobranded Philips 6 stacker CD player and an allowance for music purchases which I have to this day.

Eventually, I moved this music and added more to a Pioneer aftermarket head unit. The 6 stacker is long gone! I still listen to them from time to time, but I have to be in the mood. The Pioneer can randomly select tracks and do a number of funky things with them.

Lately I have gotten into online interviews and podcasts on a number of platforms. It could be about any subject. I find this helps the long drives get much shorter. It's a way of learning about new things.

If there is no reception, I listen to the UHF chatter. Always informative in approaching foul weather or traffic situations.

The only radio station I have preset is ABC Classic FM. That is mainly activated for the Sydney tunnel info. Otherwise I don't bother with radio.

I have this one:

I had the OEM Philips head unit from 1995-2014 (the cd 6 stacker was twice repaired during that time), and I have had the Pioneer DEH 6650BT since 2014. Has not skipped a beat. At that time, I replaced all 4 speakers, the rear two were replaced by Pioneers, and added two tweeters in the lower dash (as per the factory config on the Limited, mine was a sport), giving a total of 6. The front door speakers were Rockford.

I know there's a major difference between a Uconnect on my JKU and the after market Pioneer in my XJ. But the thing I love about the Pioneer is the reliability in its auto sensing Bluetooth connection with my phone.

As soon as I get into a car, the last thing I want to do is muck around with Bluetooth to get my phone working. It just happens in the background like magic.

It also never freezes up like uconnect. If my uconnect suffers a seizure and I am expecting calls, I need to pull the JKU over, switch the ignition off, wait a few minutes for the uconnect to power down. It won't power down immediately.
