I use a snug fitting flat blade stubby screwdriver as opposed to a phillips head type whenever I'm opening the drain plug as it's less likely to slip.

Cheers

Get a Phillips head screwdriver that fits .......... it isn't pressurized just that there's a goodly amount of juice in there and it comes out damn quick ........... I'd leave the mangled job alone until you get a replacement then it won;t matter if you stuff it some more..... remember Murphy is looking over your shoulder if not sitting on it........

Agree Drover....will leave it alone until I have the correct replacement...no Bunnings or Nut n Bolt specialist shop here...its not leaking so leave it alone...

Bunnings or Nuts 'n' Bolts shops wont't sell em I reckon. Best to try Repco or somewhere as there's a few that are the same I think.

You could then try a good ol EZ Out on the bugger, I bet as soon as the sucker bites it'll come straight out.

Yeah...thought about that Grippy....the Bunnings/Nut shop just referred to the lack of 'anything' here....wont 'play' with it till I have the correct replacement...if I stuff it up n dont have a fix, the cars a Driveway Filler/Garden Ornament.....hoping to 'scoot off' with the van for a few days so will change the filters and be off like a 'bucket of prawns in the sun'....these filters have only done 8k...but...I change both types...oil n fuel...at the same time...oil n filters are done

Holden Captiva use the same filter but no drain plug, if I find where I seen them I'll post it up for all to see 😉
