Just cos my RHF wheel is 4 feet in the air does that mean i will brake a LHR axle. I a pissed  .
Had to drive back from Black Duck Valley with the rear shaft off and front wheel driving. Hope all of the metal from the clunk clunk all the way home hasn't trashed my clutch pack ???

Hi,

Bummer about the broken axle. Sounds like you have a fully floating rear At least you could drive home. My XJ with C clip axle would have the wheel fall off if I get an axle break Hope it never happens to me.

Worst experience I had was helping a mate in his yota after his front detroit locker suddenly transferred drive and caused his birfield joint (knuckle uni) to explode.

Not only no front drive without metal munching, but steering wouldn't turn left either as birfield jammed up in there. Even his FWH didn't want to let go without a fight.

CJer, do you run a 2peice AMC20?
Upgrading to a 1 peice will give a lot more strength. Clutch pack? In the LSD?
Might be a good excuse to get a locker done

Yea Wooders 2 piece AMC. But i think it has broken on the inside near the center, not at the tapper which i through would go first.
It does not have drive to either wheel.
Spose this is normal for the stock center ????
