Ok Paz - I'm stumped. I did a heap of searches and read a heap of junk - can't find specs anywhere.
Heck I even when to :shiver: LandRover boards in my search nothing, nudda, zip, zero, naught, sweet stuff all.
Although it seems common knowledge amoungst these rover boys that the brand is Bamford - none of them have any idea about the actual details it's like I have a warn winch - yeah but what model ...etc....Plus unlike Warn, I couldn't find a company reference page....
So if you've had any luck yourself - be sure to share...

Sounds good paz, will be interested to hear how you go with it.

For technical information on how to use a PTO winch, you need to rent the movie "the gods must be crazy" from your local video store.

same here to wooders,,i've searched all areas i could think of as well,,all i came up with is a pic of one on the front of a landy on the REMLA board,,they say they have info there somewhere(REMLA),,but be buggered if i can find it,,i know they were made in victoria,,aus,,but is about it,,looking at the thing i reckon the only thing that could limit it to being 6000lb is the cable,,put bigger cable on it and i think it would pull anything,,will find out anyway..
paz
p.s..thanks wooders for also searching for me :D ..

Quote:
The PTO winch mounted up the front is the Australian made 6000lb "Bamford" brand of Victoria. REMLR has photostats of the installation instructions and parts list of these winches.
Sounds like you might have to ask nicely for them to photocopy their photcopies ;)

Jonesy,

The Dana18 transfer case has a PTO outlet, which is sometimes also used to allow overdrive.
