Question Gidday!!

What a great site

I'v been researching vehicles long and hard last couple of weeks and fell into AJRO and such a wealth of information.

Still can't make my mind up tho... was/am seriously considering a petrol kj (03-05)with the intention of putting it onto LPG for economy. Then I read all your advice for newbies to the Jeep family and see the crd is the preferred option.

As my better half allready has a 7.3litre turbo charged F250 which is primarily used for heavy towing (bobcat ect) and I need to update our current daily commute car I have always hankered for a Jeep... this is my opportunity.

But the economy figures are a bit scary after my Holden Berlina on LPG doing minimum of 360klms a week costs me about $40-50

Hubby wants me to pick a nice SUV as it is primarily to be a daily runabout but I would like it to do a bit more.... use it with an Ultimate camper (850kg dry) plus a bit of gear and be able to get over a few greasy tracks to trout streams instead of scratching up the Effie ... and I just dont know if the Compass would do it (we did check out the Patriot but that skirt on the front was not to my liking... can see that getting all dinged up in notime)
We also tote a double Hobie Kayak on the top of the poor Berlina... what a great car it has been.... but we are not into rock hopping - just want to get into upper reaches of rivers & narrow tracks.

Aren't we just so lucky.... so much to do... so many choices

Your imput and advice here would be most welcome.. after all you guys have the experience and knowledge 1st priority... doability 2nd priority: economy

Cheers to all
