Whats the problem with the Diffs ? I havent heard of any ? They're stronger than most Aussie & Jap rubbish ? (bar the old proven Ford 9" from the 60's)
Oh you get a beefier TC? I wish I could have this recall carried out LOL

So would the 2003 CRD's have the petrol TC as well?

Blue had his front diff replaced and still waiting on parts to replace the rear,
he treats his car ever so gently when offroad and both diffs died a tragic death, yet i flog my car 50% of the time and mine are perfect in my xj.

Just seems they were cost cutting when casting those diffs.

How so ? Its actually engineering at play. The alloy front diff casting was created to save weight, not cut costs. If anyting I think it would have increased cost due to the new manufacturing process.

As for the rear 8 1/4 Chrysler corporate diff, its used widely in many American cars & 4WD's, and some would beg to differ that it is in fact stronger than a D44, but I do say 'some'. All the internals for both front & rear diffs are steel, and found in other DANA diffs worldwide.

Default HEMI TC in KJ CRD 2.8 - very nice

Have just completed a HEMI TC install in KJ CRD 2.8 with Transgo.

Its is now a very nice ride.

Transgo stabilised pressures so TCM could behave, quickened the shift. The Hemi TC is more aggressive and absorbs the gear change very well, not really noticeable.

Less litres per hundred, more pulling, less heat. A really nice improvement, kicking myself coz ive had the New HEMI tc ready for almost a year now, should have done this upgrade when I got it shipped over.

Using 6x9 cooler with it and seems to be behaving very nicely.
Hemi part P04736587AC replaced the original P04736582AD part. Quite nice.

UPDATE: 1500 Kilometres, going strong.
UPDATE: 3200 Kilometres, still good, includes a trip of 1600 Kilometres @ 8.9 litres per Hundred Kilometres. All kinds of driving included in this run and all kinds of velocities.
