Given that the manual and roof in my '08 have placards that say:

Side impact strength is built into the floor, due to the height of the vehicle, not the doors. (The R point, (or Q point?), which is the hip height of occupants is high enough that the strength is not required in the door.) ADR only requires a proper latch mechanism, that they have.
I have never had a problem with police in NSW while driving with them. And since I am also allergic to sunlight these days and drive or walk around looking like this:
If they had a problem with them, I think they would have said so by now!
The main reason I got them is so that I have "doors". There is a grey area, in that the JK meets the ADR's without doors, BUT, I don't know of anyone who has documentation from Jeep Australia to say so. And without that, how can you prove it, without an engineer to do the examination of the designs & make the formal depositions? They are in CYA mode on doors & safety...
