Default tj clutch replacement and gear box leak

hey lads ,with 190k+ks on the clock my clutch has finally bit the dust and my 5 spd gearbox has a bad leak between the front and rear housing (gasket failure)
i have a new clutch and ready to get it fixed but im finding it a PITA to get a decent quote to install the clutch and fix the leak

i have had 3 mechanics tell me "We dont touch jeeps" and the others all want over 1500 bucks just to fix the leak

any recommendations would be appreciated , i would do the work my self but i just dont have the time with running two company`s and dj`n most nights

cheers
Aaron

Hey az have you tried giving rodgebone a call and discussing it, he might even be able to suggest someone if not himself to do the job.

Well that's bad news then, if our so called jeep mechanical guru doesn't want to do it then who can we turn to when noone else will either. Have you tried the generic mechanical places like auto masters, I used to go to a good one in maddington but that's a bit far from you I think.

hahah rodge was keen to do the clutch swap just not on the pull down of the 5 speed , i guess its just due to the size of the job (prolly why i cant be assed)

i will speak to a few mechanics near claremont where my office is and see if i have any luck

I wouldn't think it was that big a job to split the gearbox to do the seal. But hey I've never done it so I don't actually know.
