The OTT was the least of our problem, it was the Deveopmental Road that caused all the problems.

I'd love to do the Cape in my TJ, would be a heap of fun....but for comfort and to keep my better half happy, we take our WH on extended trips, not the TJ. With some good preparation, jerry cans and a snorkel your TJ will have no problems on the Tele track....enjoy and don't forget to visit Port Douglas!

As an aside there is plenty of fuel (if you dont get stuck anywhere) and we didn't need the Jerry cans.

Which way did you guys go steve? Im in the planning stages atm with some mates that have patrols that want to go straight up to the tip then come back down the east coast, ppl say its a bit harder doing it that way but means you don't miss seeing the cape if you run out of time.

So any input would be great.

Easy in the TJ provided you have done the preparation you are suggesting.
We have done it twice, first time with a KJ CRD and second time up the old telegraph track with the WH CRD.
There are always lots of people around that time of the year to help you if you run into difficulty, I would have no hesitation!
Good luck, it is a must do adventure.
Cheers, johnv

I've seen many jeeps make it up here
All you would want is a snorkel

I spent ten days at Punsand Bay last year waiting for a starter motor for my XJ. Could not imagine a better place to be stuck.
