This is not valid if you are a resident of Aus - if you hold a Vic (or other state) licence (and present the German one) then this would be checked and WHAM! - if you are using an interstate licence with a Vic residential address (as per the rego) then you are also unlicenced.

You need to swap to a Vic licence (within 3 months of moving) and be aware of being checked as well as the defect.

This will also be checked in an accident whether it is your fault or not.

Be Safe.
Thanks for the heads-up Escapable.

I converted my German license already 6 years ago to a Victorian license as well as when I lived in Brisbane for a while to a Queensland license.
I am now back to a Victorian after I re-registered my car in Victoria.

So this is not really a concern anymore.

Thanks
Joerg

With the German driving licence I am entitled to drive trucks up to 7.5 tons so this should not be the issue.

Can anyone share some insights, please?

Thanks

It was in reference to what you wrote in the first post, in that you wanted to use your German license. I donít think you can after 3 months of being here as Escspable had explained.

Itís a whole different game and $$$$$ to get the Jeep modded, tested, certified and registered as a truck. One would ask why??
